What are the laws and regulations around operating a self-catering property in Ireland?

Location

The rules around short-term letting are based on regulations introduced on 1 July 2019. The regulations aim to bring properties used for short-term lettings (self-catering) in Rent Pressure Zones (RPZs) back to the long-term rental market. Rent Pressure Zones are areas where rents are highest and rising quickly. These short-term regulations will continue as long as RPZs are in place. RPZs are set to expire on 31 December 2021, unless they are extended by further legislation.
