Do I have to pay a security deposit?
Yes, a security deposit is required for each property. The amount is detailed at the time of booking. Our reservations team will arrange this with guests prior to arrival. Pre-authorisation of a payment card will be required. We do not charge against a security deposit unless damages have been reported to us by an owner/caretaker following a guests departure.
The property you book will be assessed after your departure. If the owner/caretaker informs us of any breakages or damages, including the requirement for extensive additional cleaning, or cleaning required that is far in excess of the normal changeover time and costs, or specialist cleaning services, for example for carpets and beds, we will inform you of the claim them on the next working day and a deduction will be made against your security deposit, to cover the costs of the damages.
In a situation where the damages are far in excess of the amount of the security deposit held, we will inform the guests of the additional costs involved so that guests may put right the extra cost of damages through other means. Guests should be aware that in a situation where a guest does not put right any damages not covered by the amount of the security deposit, the property owner may proceed through legal channels to recoup any additional costs.
